South Street Seaport Museum
Designer: Cooper Joseph Studio
Materials: Birch plywood, Truppan MDF
We worked with Cooper Joseph Studio on the grand reopening of the South Street Seaport Museum which was destroyed by hurricane Sandy 10 months after completion. This project included display furniture in 5 galleries, miscellaneous architectural treatments, and the entry desk and retail area.
CJS designed the retail boxes like a wave.

The retail desk before application of paint and white acrylic.
The ship tools table displayed an assortment of shipbuilding tools from the Museum’s collection.

There were a number of display platforms built for various galleries. The Museum was located in a historic building with a pitch of 18″ from one side of the room to the other. All casework was built level.
